Summary

This project consisted of four deliverables, each focused on one of the below-specified key barriers to serial AM production from a design perspective, with proposed best practices and guidelines on how to address them.

• Lack of guidelines for creating AM specific drawings,
• Lack of seamless digital thread framework for AM design process,
• Lack of better definition of roles in AM production –who owns which stages of the design/manufacturing process
• Software – Need for multiple software, multiple data translations, integration with existing manufacturing systems/ workflows...etc.
