The MTC previously completed a Phase 1 project ‘NDT Standard for AM’ in this area in response to the industry need to have NDT guidelines for additive manufacturing (AM). That CRP reviewed current NDT standards, proposed a new structure for NDT for AM, and generated a standard artefact design.
In this project (Phase 2), we carried out trials on potential NDT methods using the standard artefacts, which were manufactured internally and provided by members. We also improved the design of the standard artefact and make it useable for different materials.
